On my baidarka I have Eric Schade's closure system with just a knob in the centre of the hatch that you twist to tighten. Think hard I'm sure you've seen or maybe even opened them at some point. I just put the kayak into storage at the cottage, but I could take a run out and take a pic to refresh your memory if you like. There used to be a fairly good photo on the Shearwater Boats site but I couldn't find it.

I really like the system it's bulletproof and doesn't leak at all.
