Hi,
Hopefully this will load, but I used a bike seat post bolt and handle to create a pretty decent, read bombproof latching system. The bolt handle is cammed and when the handle is pressed down, it tightens the rod. In the photo, the rod is made of wood, but I later switched to aluminum bar stock, because a wood bar or dowel will warp over time.
