Just got done watching a few utube videos on glassing what looked like a wooden SUP. They talked about hot coating and such. Are people using polyester resins on cedar SUPs? Does that work. I once used it on a cedar canoe and it never cured. It was a big mess. Are there new polyesters that work on cedar. It also looks like they add surfacing agents to make it flow out better and sand much easier. If that is possible do you still need to protect the glass with varnish? That would be great for kayaks as well. Polyester sets fast which maybe a problem or a blessing I think. Anyone have some thoughts on this. Does adding a surfacing agent to epoxy work or does that make it hard for the varnish to stick. I think it would be great if it made the sanding out easier. Thanks for any imput. Joe
