Thanks Sean,
I have to do something about the two ends which are stripped in PURPLE HEART so is also likely to kill anything impaled on them.My strip Baidarkers are quite good at being "abused" so I never had to consider this with them.Actually, that's one of many reasons why I thought they are very sensible boats.
Our winters in NZ ,by the way, are often better than summer because the wind is often moderate to zero but in summer often windy and,of course,against you usually.The temperatures are also balmy compared to you're climes.
