: I'm almost finished with the hull and deck on my Night Heron, and
: am fitting the the cockpit recess, grrrrr. At any rate, soon
: I'll be fiberglassing. My problem is I don't have a place to
: fiberglip oass the boat at home, so I have to transport it about 40
: miles to my friend's shop. Since I built it with 3/16" c
: & b, it's fairly fragile before I get it fiberglassed. Any
: suggestions on safely transporting it? Thanks, Jack
Jack: I transported my un-fiberglassed Great Auk from NY to SC on the top of my truck. I went to a boat shop and had them shrink wrap it with the same plastic that they use to winterize motorboats. Worked great but cost some $. I also think that for a short trip of 40 miles, the clear plastic household wrap might work. If you go with this last option, make sure you do it on a dry day. Don't want rain to undo your NH.
