On my foredeck I have 4 lines. Two are polyester cord with toggles, and one is cord with a single bead. In between the two I have a bungee line with 3 beads. It is SUPER handy for holding my bilge sponge or water bottle while I get into my kayak, maybe my hat or sunglasses while on the water, but anything that needs to be secured to the deck like my norsaq or spare paddle go under the cords. I do have the occasional wave wash over my deck...
