I built a Rob Macks North Star with a plywood 2x4 internal box beam ala our Uncle Nick.
Probably some kind of bad karma with mixing the two guys up.
Worked just fine. My problems had nothing to do with the strongback choice.

: I knew I had a photo of that dang thing somewhere....
