That story makes a good point about SOF's. With an all-wood boat, once everything is fastened together into a strong and rigid whole there isn't much chance of wood movement, but with a SOF where the various hull elements are less rigidly interconnected, warpage can show up any time during and after the build. Therefore more attention needs to be paid to selection of material.
