This is what I came up with. I used an old board I was keeping for some reason, to build a framework to hold the plywood in bent form. I will laminate 4 of these pieces of plywood together with glass sandwiched in between each board. The final product should hold my weight (about 192 lbs since I last checked) to be good for the grandchildren to use. I took Thor's idea to use a piece of string (well, rope since I have only bits of rope laying around) to figure out the length I needed to build the framework. If I succeed with this, I am sure someone else will want one of these balance boards. I am building this thing because the daughter-in-law wanted this board for her daughter and the market price for one is $135 CAD (choke). I am using scraps I found in the garage to do it myself. My only real cost will be the epoxy (precious little expense) and shipping costs.

Ooooh yeah, I am using my kayak (got that word in there to make this kinda sorta relevant) materials for this "build". Might be interesting to take this board onto a floating kayak to practice balance. Lay it over the cockpit curve-down and stand on it. With my inner ear problems (left side), I should be swimming in no time.
