I'll have a go :-)
Take a plank of cedar (3/4 " thick), put table saw at 45 degrees, rip a strip 3/4" wide on one surface - you have your triangular cross section strip. Set saw at 90 degrees and cut again and you have another.
Take strips and fit to inside edge of hull, slightly proud, longest (sloping) face pointing inwards/downwards, and hot glue to hull.
Place deck on top and plane strip to fit. When all fits epoxy strip to hull and let set. Then epoxy deck in place.
The idea is to use the triangular strip in place of the fibreglass bandage. For that to work the two 3/4" surfaces of the strip must be in contact with both hull and deck to be glued. Use thickened epoxy to fill any gaps.
