Yep, I followed Nick's videos/books by laying the fiberglass on the deck after the cockpit recess is built if you have one.. Fiberglassing is easier because you do not have to cut around the coaming. Since the cockpit recess is built around the cockpit opening with a perimeter strips and few cross strips, fiberglassing gives extra strength before building the cockpit riser and cockpit lip.
