The gunwales for my Schulz F1 are clear pine ... 11/16" X 2.5" X 14' ... and I'd have no qualms at all about going to 11/16" X 2.5" for 16' clear pine gunwales.

Hi Ken, I'd really like to build the 14' F1. Even with all the great info you gave me on the F1 build, for a first time construction this Greenland looks way easier..... As warmer months approach I might get up the courage to try the F1. Either way, I'll use 2.5" gunwales.
