Some of the long time KayakForum citizens will remember that there used to be 3 other subject forums on here. Back in 2009 I sort of let them die because it was too much effort for me to monitor all the spam. With the new BBS software it will be easier to manage everything so I decided to bring them back to life.

* http://www.kayakforum.com/cgi-bin/Design/ is a place to talk about design related topics, from the meaning of "prismatic coefficient" to why baidarkas have bifid bows to which is stronger, plywood or cedar.
* http://www.kayakforum.com/cgi-bin/Technique/ is devoted to on the water boating skills, primarily sea kayak related, but anybody going out onto large bodies of water in small boats is welcome to ask questions or share their experience
* http://www.kayakforum.com/cgi-bin/Trips/ is for discussions related to boating trips such as where to go, where you've been, or if you are looking for someone to go with.

* The archives for these 3 boards are also online: http://www.kayakforum.com/cgi-bin/Design/archive.cgi http://www.kayakforum.com/cgi-bin/Trips/archive.cgi http://www.kayakforum.com/cgi-bin/Technique/archive.cgi with thousands of old messages with lots of good information. The archive for the Building Forum is currently being upgraded.

You will notice feeds for the other 3 boards on the right hand side of the index page for each forum so if you are reading one forum you can see if there are any discussions going on the other boards

For those readers who have moved on from the 20th century, I have set up a Twitter account and Facebook page for the KayakForum. They don't do anything more than post a link to any new topic that gets posted on any of the 4 forums, but you can keep abreast of what is happening here through these sources as well.
