No edit feature still?

You are now able to edit your message for about 30 minutes after you post. This should give people enough time to fix typos. However to keep the forum civil I still feel it is important everyone be prepared to live with anything they post.

In the past I had some trouble with people making inflammatory posts, getting people all spun up, and then editing it out and acting innocent. Since those days I feel the forum has become a very friendly and helpful place, in part because posters will be held responsible for anything they post. There are a lot of forums available for people who like to start fights.

I understand the inconvenience of not being able to edit mistakes, but once people start responding to mistakes it is better to correct the mistakes in an additional subsequent post instead of re-writing the history of the thread.

So, I hope people can edit their messages before posting them, use preview to check that it looks right and if they notice something after posting they have a little bit of time to go back to get it right

The "Edit" feature shows up at the bottom of the message under "manage my post". This may only be available for registered users.
