Note the word "current" in that text from the bb website! My kayak was made twenty years ago, I'm not sure their techniques were the same. I'm waiting for a reply from Al and Betsy Anderson about paint, I can also ask about fiberglass. They are the owners of bb kayak (which, BTW, is named for the bay they live next to, not Betsy Anderson).
Maine is a three-day drive from here. Michigan another two days from Maine. 3700 kms from St. John's to Franklin, MI, where BB is located - I looked! ;-) Besides, I don't know if they want to refinish this boat again, maybe once was enough? ;-)
Maybe I'll start searching for someone around here with work space and tools and guidance to share! Though I'm most optimistic about finding a good repair person here somewhere.
