Hi Bryan,

Thanks for noting your experience, I may be able to use the information. I have always assumed that polyester gel coat would suffer from the same warnings that apply to glass/polyester laminations over epoxy.

It seems possible to me that the bond between gel coat and epoxy may be strong enough to keep gel coat attached, but that the same strength bond in a glass/polyester resin to epoxy lamination may not be sufficiently strong. In any case, your experience suggests that the gel coat/epoxy bond is more than strong enough for the cosmetic purposes involved, and that is excellent information. I can think of several impending repairs that you have helped me out with.

BBK does NOT use gelcoat
