I'm not sure that there is a simple answer to your question.

Some kayaks with simple shapes need very little change in the angle of the bevel along the strip. That would make it easier and quicker.

If the kayak has fairly tight curves in places like the chines, it is a bit more difficult to get the angle of the bevel exactly right. On the other hand, in those places, it is best to use narrower strips, so you would need to rip some of your B&C strips and do the bead or cove again.

A large part of the time involved in B&C seems to be getting the router set up just right, so the idea of doing some with bevel and then changing to B&C may not be a time saving idea.

Just to put things in perspective, the nine strip built kayaks I have completed have all been built stapleless with bevelled strips. So I have a fair bit of experience of bevelling strips. It didn't take long to learn how to get it right. My comments about B&C are largely based on reading a lot of comments on forums posted by amateur builders and on the websites of professional builders.
