Done pretty much as you suggest - power file comes into it own for these sort of jobs. Will add some new glass tomorrow
As you say not as hard as it looked.
This was a freek accident. The kayak was on brackets in an enclosed shut garage when a powerful gust increased the pressure in the garage and blew out the manhole cover to the roof space. The kayak was strung across below the namhole and the rush of air from the roofspace blew it off the rack The only good point was that the manhole cover landed against the car and the kayak crashed into that instead of the car!!
