I think if you build a few boats you learn what supplier has glass you like and wets out well. I had a batch of glass that was terrible to wet out. I immediately peeled it off and wiped down the boat. I used it under the deck. Unfortunately this is not often addressed in books or even on this board. New boat builders shop the web for the cheapest deal around and who knows where it's made and for what general intention. It certainly wasn't made for strip building and a clear wet out. Most reinforcement cloths are made to be painted. I buy my glass from Newfound Woodworks because they make strip boats. I may pay $30 more but I don't have to post pictures of glass problems. I think if you buy from the epoxy or boat kit people who know what you are doing you are safe. The other unfortunate thing is that 1st time builders really don't know what to expect. An experienced builder immediately knows if something is wrong.
