As a tool maker by trade I'm a self declared toolaholic and I'm always interested in new innovations to old products. While in Florida in December I visited the local Woodcraft store in Clearwater and had a great time. I been preparing my home shop since December and thinking about the processes involved in building the Great Auk. It's my first build and I've decided to go the bead and cove route. I heard that in the US there are 10 emergency room visits per day related to table saw accidents. To be honest I have always been intimidated by the machine and give it my utmost attention and respect when using her. So I wanted to find a method of making the 1000 feet or so of strip cutting easier. As most of you probably know feather boards seem to be the norm but the constant adjusting would be a pain. I considered buying a power feeder but justifying that to the wife seemed to be too big of a ordeal. What I did find is a product that seems like it would be perfect for the job of feeding the planks through the blade and strips through the router. It's called the Micro Jig GGG-ripper , basically a hybrid push paddle. I bought 2 and I think it will work perfect. Another week or so and I'll be ready to cut my first strips and I'll report back my observations
