My favorite method is to use a bandsaw with a narrow kerf carbide blade. The fence is pulled back in front of blade with only several inches behind the blade.A feather board pinching the plank hard into fence,with less then 1/4 inch between the fence and blade.A really quite and safe operation devoid of flying sawdust. Also I can walk around to the back of saw and pull the plank for the last part of the cut. No kickbacks or burnt edges.After 40 years of primarily using a table saw for cabinet work this method seems very civilized. rh
