Etienne, are you cutting strips on the left side of the blade? What are the "L" shaped planks off to the left. Are they salvaged pieces you're using for strips? What is the reason for the electrical box over the blade?

The planks on the out-feed table are lengths of picture framing. I cut the bottom 5mm or so off them to use as internal slips.

Sorry, the picture is probably confusing. The length of framing in there is just a prop. I cut the strips on the right side of the blade. I have seen it done on the left by moving the fence in against a stop for every cut instead of moving the feather board. It was a fairly involved process though and, while it produced a nice strip, the short in-feed guide works so well why would one do it any other way? That is a rhetorical question btw.

The electrical box is a visual reminder that there is a blade beneath it. I call it my proximity alert device. In my mind that box is like one of those yellow and black nuclear warning symbols. If one is cutting a lot of strips in one go one can easily fall into
a meditative fugue and lose alertness. The box helps to keep me on my toes.

Be alert. The country needs lerts.
