Hi folks,

I've recently decided to build a kayak. I have a couple boys who I'd like to introduce to sea kayaking. I've decided to build a triple, and intend on starting off doing day trips and eventually longer excursions once we get used to paddling.

I'm pretty decent at carpentry and think I can do fine with a set of plans, but I've never built a kayak before and I am not familiar with what would best suit my need.

I just love the look of strip kayaks, but I can't find any triple kayaks --only tandems-- with strip designs.

The only plans I can find are the Osprey and the Chesapeake.

Does anyone have any experience with either and can you recommend the best build and most importantly, the best sail?
