Hi Bill,
Each time I hear/read about end pours I get puzzled. Not about what it is but the why? Epoxy is heavier than water, wood is lighter (mostly). Putting a wooden block/timber in as stem 'reinforcement' gives a nice large gluing surface to stick the strips.
And you don't have to stand your kayak on end twice. (makes 'em look scary big, I'm only 5'10)
