Tools: Best finish for chisel handles
Hello friends,
I am making some chisel handles and trying to figure what is the best thing to varnish them with. My first notion is Goldspar. It's tough but yet not brittle. I figure lacquer and enamel, although durable, might be brittle and tend to crack under pressure... kind of like I do sometimes! :-) Also I want to put leather caps on these and I figure Goldspar will soak in and then harden to the leather better than enamel, lacquer, or other finishes. Am I right or wrong? I have been wrong before ya know. Just ask Amy. She will verify this.
