Sure ... it's done all the time. In my F1 SOF I use Yakama foot braces ... now made by Werner. Personally I wouldn't use the Sea Dog/Sea-Lect/Duckworks braces because I've seen a few of them malfunction while on the water by coming off their track ... which required disassembly to fix. The Yakima's can jam due to sand and what-not but in the 12 years that I've used them I've never seen one single part break or seen them come out of their track. I'll put my money on the Yakama/Werner foot braces.

I'd like to use adjustable foot braces in the kayak I'm working on at the moment. I'm fairly confident I could get the foot brace in the right place for myself, but I'd feel better if it was adjustable, plus it'd be better for my friends if they have the occasion to borrow it.
