One caution. The pictured boat was for the son of a friend. They took it on a 4 hr trip with no cockpit cover. When they got to the lake the foot rest had been pulled off the rail, turned around, and somehow got back on the rail backwards.
At first we thought it was a practical joke, but on the return trip the foot rest again got pulled off, this time it didn't magically get stuck back on the rail.
This needs another bolt stuck up to limit the aft travel so it doesn't get lost. Or a cockpit cover.
BTW, this has been used on 3 Yost kayaks, and a strip planked baidarka.
But my wife refuses to give up her pegs. To each his own.
