Re the 'crack' about "lead" footpegs [it's OK - no offense taken], you jogged my memory - I had made an error when originally recording the weight details and YES, I had managed to shift the decimal place - OOPS.

The true weight of Tony's Smart Track foot peg was 470 GRAMS not 4.70kg and the weight of my timber equivalent is now 146 GRAMS and that's after drilling the lightening holes in the foot pad and giving the timber its first coat of varnish. So the correct weight saving in the completed kayak will be only 648 gm but any weight saved is an easier carry of the YOST to the water.

Another example of the old adage "Measure twice, cut once"
