Just talked to Groff and Groff lumber. Eastern Pennsylvania. They have about 4,000 bd ft. in stock. Shorter 4/4 pieces start out at $3 bd ft. Longer a little more. Up to $5 bd ft. 8/4 runs $5 bd ft. They use UPS. I have ordered from these guys about 5 yrs. ago.

For those who want to make a paddle...My 97.5" paulownia Greenland weights 23 oz. I am 6'4" with big hands. I built it thick. Seen a kayak shop last year with a $300 carbon fiber paddle weigh the same. Being so light it does take a little more strength to force the paddle under water. ;o)
