Hey Bill - I did some military training there several years back now. I'm up in the Pacific NW and pretty much will paddle all year around out here. But my experience with Kentucky was that it was brutally cold all Winter long. I remember March temps in the negative values for most of the month.

In fact, it was so cold that when we came out of the field mid March, the temps rose to just above freezing. We had been out for such a long time that we were all stripping down to t-shirts in the 30 degree afternoon.
