I've had good luck using glue sticks alone as a mold. No PVC tubing. 5/16" mini sticks for single lines and regular 1/2" sticks for double lines (sometimes three). With a thin coat of wax, some tugging from both ends to thin the section, they (usually) pop right out. I don't reuse them as fittings but they still work in the glue gun.
