Nice write up and pictures John. Nice thing about working with epoxy is you can use nearly any foam, unlike working with polyester.

Using epoxy makes it easier to find simple 'mold release' and protection films as well. Styrene is a pretty 'hot' solvent.
Polyester resin is a lot cheaper, though! I've been using polyester for things like laying up bulkhead panels - using mylar sheet sprayed with PVA mold release.
