Hi All, As I am getting closer to finishing my kayak (a Redfish Silver), I am looking to build a couple of skin on frame boats for my kids. They are 6 and 8. We'll probably start building over spring break in April.
I have been looking at the Sea Flea Yost boats, and have also looked at the Kidarka. The kids like the Sea Flea.
I have lots of questions. Are there any other designs I should consider? If I go with the Sea Flea should I go with the 11' or 12' version? Is it different for each kid? I thought someone had developed full size drawings of the cross sections for the Sea Flea for download. Where would I find those? I didn't see a recommended length for the stringers. How is that determined? Does anybody have experience building boats with youngsters? Any suggestions?
Thanks all.
