I agree with Peter. If your child is likely to grow soon the Sea Pup is a good boat to build. If she is on the small size and likely to stay that way for a while stay with the Sea Flea. I have built both. I have also paddled my Sea Pup - fun to try but not stable to paddle for a 6'4" 180lb guy. BTW. My daughter learded to roll in the Sea Pup. She started with a hand roll. It is a good boat!
