You might want to double check your plans. Usually the full size plans has two detail lines on the cockpit drawing sheet. The wider and longer line is the cockpit recess. In looking at the CLC website, they call for 33x19 cockpit, so the recess should be slightly wider and definitely longer. I would recommend cutting out the cockpit recess per the plans and then strip the recess, and followed by fiberglassing the deck area. Next, lay the strips for the cockpit riser, sand, and fiberglass the riser and cockpit area.
