Getting the glass to drape over a sharp stem is impossible. At least for me. I use hardwood stems and allow the glass to lay flat against the hull and slit the glass along the stem to help the glass conform to THE HULL. The glass will adhear to the sides of the stems to provide strenght and additional bonding to the boat. The hardwood will handle any impact better than glass anyway.

I do my wet out and 2 fill coats. I then sand down the boat being very careful not to sand into the glass. 1 or 2 more fill coats can be applied to get a smooth glassy look.

Bright, low angle light will show STUFF in the epoxy but you will probably never see it outdoors unless you lay down next to your boat in bright morning sun with your nose touching the hull.

The lighter colored squeegee lines are due to micro bubbles in the epoxy. Be very carefull not to whip bubbles into epoxy during application. One thing that works wonders for me is to use a heat gun to Quickly and Carefully warm the surface of the applied epoxy to pop bubbles
