Ive done this type of layup to build hatch rims and it works really well. If you add graphit or an epoxy paint then you can produce black hatch rims that look incredible. You will need to add a couple of quick coats of epoxy and sand smooth to get a real quality look. It is a lot faster than using strips. Take time to get everything in place and then do the layup. In the morning you will have rims that can be trimmed to fit and glued in.

Great instructions, real good process for building those rims.
