Some recent posts have mentioned installing sheer clamps instead of the dreaded inside taping of the sheer. I have just one more strip left to complete the hull of an Outer Island, so this may be a poor time to consider this, but I didn't at all enjoy the inside taping when I build a pair of S&Gs a few years ago. Since it is too late for me to notch the building forms to allow for sheer clamps (at least for the hull portion) is the sheer clamp method still a viable option?
I could either notch the deck portion of each form and notch the hull portion of each clamp to go around each form, or I could install a series of sheer clamps, each one less than 12" long, to fit between the forms. What are your thoughts?

In addition to the inside taping issue, this would address the warping of hull and deck before "closing the clam", as Kurt named that process.
