I was really skeptical of the Festool and their pricing, but I must say the RO 125 is a very good tool. I still have my 20 year old Porter Cable 7335 and I never had any complaints with it, but I bought the Festool because I thought the aggressive mode would save time sanding and it does. I actually find I do not use the finer random orbit mode much, the aggressive mode does a very fine job very quickly.

I'm using it with a Fein vacuum and an Oneida Dust Deputy and the dust collection is extremely good. I feel I could do away with my dust mask while sanding. BTW the Dust Deputy is very effective at keeping fine dust out of my vacuum. I think that with this dust collection I could get away with a cheaper vacuum unit.

Is the $455 price "worth it"? I don't know. But it is a very good tool. If you are waffling and scared off by the combined price of the sander plus the vacuum, just get the sander and get big-box brand vacuum and add a cyclone dust collector to save money.
