I suppose I forgot to mention you need a stationary workshop compressor for that. High quality Sanders and Sprayguns need a lot of air flow making the investment for home builders slightly questionable due to the cost and size of the compressor. In professional situations air powered tools quickly outweigh those cons though: extremly low noise level (if compressor is next door), hardly any maintenance (very simple mechanics) and better ergonomics (low weight and heat).

By coincidence I had the chance to compare a cheap 5" DeWalt ROS to my Festool Rotex while I was sanding some WRC Cabinets for a bathroom. I only used the "soft" mode on the Rotex but even then it got the job done pretty precisely 3x faster than the Dewalt.
Vibrations really became an issue with the DeWalt after a while and it was hard to control a flush grip with the workpiece. Dust amounts were of course shockingly high (my nose still "hides" a lot of it today) whereas the Rotex sucked in 99% of the fine dust and only left behind a few coarser particles too heavy to become airborne. Besides, with a wood like WRC it was really useful to have a harder foam pad on hand to get a really flat surface (DeWalt doesn't offer those).

But yes, good tools are expensive. They usually pay off easily when time means money but that might not be the case for most kayak builders...
