if there would be an advantage to curving the bulkhead to give it a little ability to bend or deflect when there is a large load or impact
I just finished a petrel . I used 1/8 marine ply with 4 ounce cloth for the bulkhead . The forward bulkhead is installed leaning forward at the top. It is glassed in at the top and sides. The bottom is about 1/8inch shy of touching the hull. I used marine adhesive to seal the bottom of the bulkhead . The adhesive acts as a flexible gasket at the hull contact area. The result is a tilted watertight bulkhead that doubles as a comfortable footrest. I installed the bulkhead 2 inches forward of my foot position so i could cover it with minicell foam. It is very comfortable and saves the weight and cost of foot pegs. all the best rh
