Well, last week it was POLEDANCER, this week I got the build log of the Shearwater 17 Hybrid uploaded to my website.

A friend wanted to build a first boat alongside me. I don't have a second strong back so we opted for a hybrid and the Shearwater 17 seemed a good size.

Well I am really glad we chose this design. It is a sweet little boat. Gets up to cruising speed very easily and smoothly and is comfortable for me at six ft and 215 lbs for long paddles, yet my five ft one inch wife loves it.

On doesn't hear much about this boat, it is one of those best kept secrets. It deserves more limelight.

We did email CLCboats asking how much they wanted as royalty for the second boat, but got no reply, so carried on regardless.

Anyway, if my build log can inspire a few others to build it that may make up for it. It is worth having in the collection. The plans are full size, comprehensive and accurate. the boat is not difficult to build. I have been using it quite a lot.
