Hello Everybody

I noticed many words like ripoff an thief in this thread and I also noted several differences in the design of this boat. If this design is a copy of Nicks but scaled down inappropriately than I imagine the quality of the boat would suffer and no one would want to claim the design. Weather scaled or just similar, the boat is much shorter and wider at the beam. Perhaps it has significant differences in the bow, Plumb, more or less overhang, Rocker in bow and stern? Volume differences in bow or stern?
Maybe its just me but without quality, accurate drawings I just don't know how to tell a knockoff from the similar. A 2" difference in the beam is a world of difference in a kayak so a half inch would make a difference to an experienced paddler.
I recently designed a paddle board and I am very confident it is an original. However I also designed a kayak for use on inland lakes. I loved the first design I did BUT, I had to make sure I added several additional details to assure it differed from existing designs. I want my own name on it you see. It is a challenge to create a NEW 16' long 22" beam kayak. By the time I changed the HULL design at the stern and bow combined with a unique profile I was able to do so. Now I am all for protecting my design! Look for the Coeur d'Bois (core d' bwa) coming to a lake near me.
