Yes, I am considering just glassing the inside of the cockpit, not the rest of the inside.
If you are planning to coat the inside of the hull/deck with epoxy (which I would strongly recommend), a layer of light glass makes a good 'thickness gauge' for the epoxy and adds very little weight. I'd guess that a layer of 3-4oz glass without excess resin (and without a fill coat) would probably as light as a rolled-on coat of epoxy.
