S&G: epoxy under stitches *PIC*

Hello,

I'm new to posting on this forum (mostly been lurking, soaking up advice silently from the shadows. Have learned a lot).

I'm currently well into my S&G Pygmy Murrelet 4PD build. I'd like to have it ready for its maiden voyage immediately after the last day of school. (I teach high school. I'm ready for summer.)

I have just pulled all of the wires and started scraping/sanding the excess epoxy from the seams. However, the epoxy that built up under the wires is difficult to scrape away. When I use a scraper, I end up slipping off the bump and marring the wood. I'm afraid of sanding through the 1st ply of plywood around the bump and leaving an ugly scar if I use sandpaper. Knife worked well, but I slipped a couple of times, which made me worry about safety. It seems like I might be back to the sandpaper option, but I wanted to ask a group of wiser, more experienced folks. Help?

Respectfully,
Jenn
