That's a nice tool but I call it a jigsaw. There's been a lot of improvement in those with orbital cut and blade guides, much more accurate than they once were. This what I mean by a saber saw, fine for trimming fence planks but not my choice for boatbuilding.

Perhaps this is a regional or international 'naming' issue? The tool you pictured is what I call a 'reciprocating saw' or 'Sawzall' (your example is cordless). Good for cutting out old doors and windows in reno work. Generally I keep a flexible bi-metal (nail cutting) blade in mine.

When I first used one, what is generally called a 'jigsaw' these days was called a saber saw.

Generally, I prefer 'barrel type' saber/jigsaws like the Bosch:

I also have a decent older Craftsman saw with a rotating blade (top handle rotates the blade), which is useful in some spots, though it takes a bit of 'mental adjustment' every time I pick it up.
