I am ready to start striping my canoe but am having issues with which woods to use. I am trying to achieve a very light colored look on the bulk of the canoe and a big contrast with a dark red look for accent strips. Located down south I am limited somewhat at the local lumber yards. Could Bass wood be used for the bulk of the strip? I know this is a soft wood but once it is glassed maybe it could work. My only issue now would be the accent dark reddish wood. Any suggestions for me?
