Etienne, I don't know that I've often been accused of being a lady, or civilized (just ask my mom). I do like new challenges though, so I go where the most experience is to guide me through it. It's surprising how often that lands me in a "man's world."
I was excited to try the chisel method, but it looks like the chisels escaped in last year's yard sale. So I tried the file method that Marc mentioned. He was right about being able to use the plywood as a guide and remove practically no wood. I get impatient with it when I look down the length of the boat and see how much is left, but it's satisfying to look back the other direction and see how nice it looks. Sort of like hiking up a mountain.
