I've used Brightssides without primer on two polyester skinned SOF boats, I can also confront hat it works great. I think I'd be cautious about using the primer since on a SOF the paint soaks through the fabric and essentially adds protection to the inside of the boat as well. The primer is not a durable surface and most importantly may not hold up well to UV, especially in the cockpit area where it's more exposed.
