Thinking on this some more.. You could consider using the primer as the 3rd coat if you we're doing 5 coats in total. 2 coats of topside paint to saturate the fabric, a coat of primer to stretch the budget and it likely would fill the weave more than topside paint, then 2 coats of topside paint to finish it off. Could be a breakthrough SOF coating technique.
